CDGL barred from suspending school heads
LAHORE
The Lahore High Court on Friday restrained City District Government Lahore (CDGL) from suspending headmistresses of three schools and sought replies from DCO and Secretary Local Government by March 4.
Kausar Shehnaz, headmistress of Begum Kot Girls School, Mumtaz Bano, head of Shahdara Girls School and Bhatti Gate Girls School’s headmistress Rabia Siddique had filed the petitions.
The petitioners through their counsel argued that the CDGL had issued notices of their suspension while they had not been given the right of being heard.
They were accused of not using funds and other blames which had already been settled by the orders of the LHC, they said. The teacher petitioners prayed to the court to set aside notification of their suspension.
plea to rename LHC: The Lahore High Court on Friday sought assistance of attorney general of Pakistan and advocate general, Punjab on a petition seeking directions to change Lahore High Court name to Punjab High Court.
Justice Shahid Waheed was hearing the petition of a retired sessions judge Javed Rashid Mehboobi.
