Double murder convict hanged in Faisalabad jail

FAISALABAD: A double murder convict was hanged in the Central Jail here on Tuesday.
The convict, Ghafoor Masih, had killed his wife Nasreen Bibi and aunt Shabnam Bibi over a domestic dispute on December 25, 2007. The additional sessions judge had awarded him death sentence on November 22, 2008.
Faisalabad CPO issues show-cause to seven SHOs

FAISALABAD: CPO Afzal Ahmad Kausar has issued show-cause notices to seven SHOs of Civil Lines, Sadr, Jhang Bazaar, Gulberg, Sahinwala, Mansoorabad and Millat Town for poor performance and defective investigation in a number of criminal cases.
In a statement here, he also expressed concern over poor performance of some SHOs and directed them to improve their performance and control crime in their areas, failing which they would face departmental inquiries. The CPO also directed all SHOs of the district to immediately constitute the Quick Response Force in their areas otherwise strict action would be taken against them.
