ANF seizes huge quantity of drugs

The Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) while carrying out 11 operations against drug trafficking in Islamabad, Attock, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta, recovered 9kg heroin, 13kg ‘hashish’, 5kg opium, 2,400 litre acetic anhydride and 700 grams ice. ANF also rounded up 15 persons involved in drug trafficking and seized 2 vehicles during the operations.

According to details, ANF Rawalpindi on pursuance of information detained 2 drug carriers including Abdul Akbar, resident of Khyber Agency, and Safaid Gul, resident of Hangu, recovering 5kg heroin from their possession. They were apprehended near Mandi Morr, Pirwadhai, Islamabad. As per initial information, they arrived here at Islamabad for delivery of heroin to some local drug supplier of the area.

ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team detained a passenger named Obaidullah, resident of Mianwali, at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad, while he was proceeding for Doha by Qatar Airline Flight No.QR-633 and recovered 700 grams ice concealed in his trolley bag.

ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team held a passenger namely Saifullah at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, and recovered 2kg heroin concealed in his passenger bag.

The accused was to board on Saudi Airline Flight No. SV-721 scheduled for Jeddah.

ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team recovered 1.970kg heroin from a passenger named Haji Muhammad, resident of Swabi, who was intercepted at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, while leaving for China via Doha by Qatar Airline Flight No. QR-633.

ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team Intercepted a passenger named Qadir Fazal at Benazir International Airport who confessed to having gulped heroin filled capsules. He intended to take off for Doha by Flight No. QR-615.

ANF Rawalpindi held a local drug supplier, Shabir Ahmed, resident of Attock, along with recovery of 3kg ‘hashish’, which was found in his possession. He was arrested from Attock City.

ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team during routine checking near Attock City, GT Road, Attock, captured Mazda Truck and a Toyota Corolla car, which resulted in seizure of 5kg ‘hashish’ and 5kg opium concealed inside the said vehicles. Three persons were also taken into custody during the operation.

ANF Lahore in an operation carried out at Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore arrested a drug carrier, Arshad Khan, resident of Khyber Agency, and a drug recipient, Muhammad Yousaf, resident of Lahore, seizing 3kg ‘hashish’ from their personal possession.

ANF Peshawar Road Check Team during routine checking near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar, and arrested an accused, Muhammad Alam, resident of Peshawar, along with recovery of 2.4kg ‘hashish’. The accused was arrested while travelling in a passenger van bound for Rawalpindi. Further, ANF Peshawar Airport Team detained as suspected passenger, Noor Shah, resident of Hangu at Peshawar Airport, who later on, admitted of having ingested heroin filled capsules. He intended to fly for Ras-al-Khaima by Air Arabia Airline Flight No. G9-825.

ANF Quetta, while acting upon a tip-off, raided a premises near Golimar Chowk, Sabzal Road, Quetta and seized 2,400 Liter Acetic Anhydride stocked in the said premises. ANF also arrested an individual, Saboor alias Adil, resident of Quetta during the operation.
