The 16th Convocation of the Textile Institute of Pakistan (TIP)
Karachi: A total of 60 graduating students were awarded degrees in the disciplines/programs of Textile Marketing and Management, Apparel Manufacturing and Merchandizing, Fashion Design Management, Textile Science and Textile Design Technology.
The Convocation was attended by the eminent scientist Prof. Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy who was also the Keynote Speaker on the occasion. The members of the Board of Governors, The Chancellor Mian Abdul Majeed and the President Mr. Humayun Zafar were also present.
Cum Lode merit medals were awarded to high performing students whereas Ms. Rajja Fatima,graduate of Textile Design program was awarded the Late Dr. Ekbal Ahmed Award along with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for her overall best performance.
While congratulating the graduating students Dr Hoodbhoy advised them to believe in creativity and original work, and to challenge the old traditional concepts for betterment and improvement.***
