Rs275 million drugs recovered by ANF

Anti Narcotics Force (ANF), in its drive against drug trafficking carried out 6 operations in different parts of the country, which led to seizure of 37.5 Kg heroin, 4000 psychotropic tablets and 14.5 Kg hashish worth Rs275 million in the international market.  

ANF also arrested 7 offenders involved in drug trafficking and impounded 2 vehicles during the operations. Most of the recovered heroin was being transported abroad. ANF Rawalpindi on pursuance of information captured a Suzuki Premio Car at Kohinoor Mills Bus Stop, GT Road, Rawalpindi and recovered 10 Kg heroin concealed in improvised cavities of the car. Two drug carriers on board identified, as Irfan Ullah and Roamn Durrani both residents of Peshawar were taken into custody.

ANF Lahore Airport Team intercepted a UK bound shipment at air cargo office, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 6.5 Kg heroin concealed inside the cartons containing garments. After initial investigations, 2 individuals namely Uzair Khurshid and Aman Ullah residents of Lahore were taken into custody.

ANF Lahore road check team after searching a Hino Truck near Sher Shah Toll Plaza, Multan, recovered 11.7 Kg hashish from roof cabin of the truck. A person later identified as Habib Ullah was also taken into custody.

ANF Peshawar apprehended Mari Khel, resident of Khyber Agency near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar, while he was travelling in a passenger van bound from Peshawar to Rawalpindi and recovered 2.8 Kg hashish from his possession.

ANF Karachi seaport team during an intelligence led operation intercepted a container at Pakistan International Container Terminal, Karachi Port, and seized 21 Kg heroin tactfully concealed inside cartons containing ‘mehndi’. The container was being dispatched to Sri Lanka. 

ANF Karachi Airport Team, detained a passenger, Shabir Hussain, resident of Karachi at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi. The search of his luggage led to seizure 4,000 Xanax tablets (1.17 Kg), which were concealed in a thermos. The accused was to fly for Sharjah by Air Arabia Flight No G9 548.
