The recent steps of the Sindh government to curb corruption in the education sector is welcome news. Education has been almost destroyed in the province because of rampant corruption, ghost teachers, ghost students and insufficient educational facilities. In this regard, the Sindh education secretary’s decision to introduce biometric verification of teachers will definitely help improve the situation. Another malaise is rot learning. This has to be stopped through the introduction of participatory education and cultivating a more robust teacher-student interaction.
Moreover, the library in the Government Sachal Sarmast Degree College in Ranipur is in a bad state. The authorities concerned are requested to look into the condition of all libraries in the province and release funds for the betterment of these learning places.
