ISLAMABAD: Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi Bench, on Tuesday directed to register the First Information Report (FIR) against Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael.
After the directions issued by the LHC, the petitioner approached the local police in Murree for the registration of an FIR against the fraud of Rs60 million on the pretext of sale of Holy Trinity Church allegedly by Kamran Michael. However, the matter was deferred due to the influence of the powerful accused.
Justice of Peace Additional Sessions Judge, Murree, directed the SHO Murree Police Station to register the FIR against the accused, including Kamran Michael. Kamran Michael, allegedly in connivance with some others, including Shafiq Masih, looted Rs60 million from Waqar Ahmed Khan, a property adviser dealing in the business of property.
Syed Khawar Ameer Bukhari, the counsel for the petitioner, pleaded that the accused, including Kamran Michael, induced and defrauded a huge amount from his client Waqar on the pretext of sale lease of the Holy Trinity Church, Mall Road, Murree, at the beginning of 2013 when Kamran Michael was holding the office of minister for minorities.
