Sindh to launch SMS service to redress public grievances
KARACHI: In the larger public interest and for the convenience of people, the Sindh government is going to launch an Effective Feedback Redressal Mechanism initially in four departments and sectors. The applicants would now receive a call in the voice of the chief minister and an SMS about their application.
An applicant would also be able to file their complaint in reply to the SMS in case of any problem.
This decision was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah here at the CM House today.
The meeting was attended among others by Senior Minister for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah and Chief Secretary Siddique Memon.
The Secretary of Finance, Sohail Rajput, briefing the chief minister, said that an easy feedback redressal mechanism was being developed for giving feedback to the people for the redressal of their grievances and to attend to their requests and applications.
He said a call centre had been established for the purpose in the finance department, initially for four important sectors such as the registration of property, motor vehicle registration, payment of pension and reimbursement of medical expenditure.
When an applicant files an application for the registration of property, vehicles, payment of pension and reimbursement of medical bills, they would be informed through a robo-call that their application has been received. They will also be told about its status.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah approved the project and directed senior minister for finance Syed Murad Ali Shah to launch it in four sectors initially but “this service must be extended to other important departments such as education, local government and the police”.
The chief minister during the meeting recorded the acknowledgement messages which would be sent to the applicants through the robo-calls.
The chief minister through the call would tell the applicant that their application for payment of medical bills or registration of motor vehicle or registration or mutation of property and payment of pension has been received and is being processed.
The applicant would also be asked if they faced any problem during the filing of the application and if so they must inform the chief minister via SMS on toll free number 9515.
