Five kiln owners held for child labour

OKARA

The Punjab Protection of Child Labour inspector Saturday arrested five kiln owners on charges of employing underage children at their kilns.

Farooq Jalal of Al-Noor Bricks was arrested when Gorge Faisal 5 and Waseem Akram, 8 were found busy in child labour at the kiln.

Nasir 11 and Umar Gul Khan,12 were found from Usman Bricks Kohla Moor of Abdul Khaliq Kamyana of 4/GD.

The owner of Al-Makka Bricks was arrested when Kashif, 5, Allah Moafi, 9, Shahid, 8 and Sana, 10 were found busy in bonded labour.

Muhammad Ramzan and Muhammad Ishaq of Masha Allah Bricks were arrested for employing Farooq Ahmad, 12 and Murtaza, 13.

SPECIAL PERSONS’ JOBS: The Punjab government under its special scheme Saturday gave employment to 73 special persons, including 58 physically challenged and 15 blind people in scale one to 4 across the district. District Coordination Officer Sucrat Aman Rana announced this in a special function held in connection with awarding appointment letters to the special persons.

The DCO said it was a keen desire of the Punjab Chief Minister to create atmosphere where such people may live with ease.

EDO-Community Rana Javed Ashraf said the special persons were given jobs in the health, livestock, TMAs, education and public works departments.

FATEHA FOR VARSITY MARTYRS: Fateha was offered for the martyrs of Bacha Khan University in a special condolence meeting of the staff of Govt College Gogera (Okara) chaired by the principal professor Abdul Shakoor Rana. Teachers delivered special lecturers on terrorism in their classes.

DISTINCTION: Umer Saeed of the Government Post Graduate College got 2nd position in the province in the debate contest held under the Punjab Chief Minister programme. According to the college principal Professor Zafar Ali Tipu, so for 20 students of the college had won prizes in various contests.
