Three Kasur case accused acquitted
LAHORE
An anti-terrorism court on Friday acquitted three persons nominated in the Kasur children abuse case.
Arshad, Ashfaq and Ibrahim had filed applications through their counsel and pointed out that they had nothing to do with the allegations leveled against them. They said that they were not present but the police had booked them to show performance to high-ups.
Their counsel contended that his clients were ready to join the investigation. He pleaded the court that his clients be acquittal in the case. During the hearing, one of the complainants, Muhammad Azeem, also deviated from his previous statement in which he had alleged that he was abused.
He said he had been working in Lahore for last four years and on the day of the incident, when he reached his home he came to know about the FIR registered against him and others allegedly involved in the incident.
After recording the statements of both sides, the court sought reply from Station House Officer of Ganda Singh Wala, Kasur. However, on Friday the court acquitted the accused after prosecution failed to submit any evidence of their involvement in the case. Around 280 children were allegedly abused in Kasur in August, last year.
