Booking starts for Pakistan’s tallest building

41 floors completed; Malik Riaz says it is a gift for prosperity of the country’s people

KARACHI: As another milestone for Pakistan, Bahria Town has booking for the country tallest building, the 62-storey Bahria Town Icon Karachi.

Located on Shahrah-e-Firdousi, this high-rise with a panoramic view of the sea and the city provides modern residences, world class business facilities and interesting leisure opportunities is moving towards achieving new heights.

The 41 floors of the Bahria Town Icon have already been completed, while the work is in progress on the remaining. At the same time, the flyover and underpass project with an investment of Rs8.1 billion from Bahria Town is providing necessary facilities not only for the current needs but also of the coming generations.

In a special statement, Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz described Bahria Town Icon as a gift to the Pakistani people and said he hoped that it would become as a symbol of greatness for Pakistan and the people. “Through the construction of Pakistan’s tallest building, we want to give a message that Pakistan is a fabulous country and the Pakistanis are a great nation, who know how to conquer every height in the world.”

The Karachi residents and the members of Bahria Town Icon, who have been waiting anxiously for booking, expressed their joy and described it as a new chapter of the country’s prosperity. The project members told media that the project would help presenting a positive face of Pakistan.

According to John Ashcraft, the project director, Bahria Town Icon is a beautiful milestone for South Asia. Its design is of highest quality and according to modern architecture. The top floor has a Summit Restaurant, the highest in Pakistan, with the Altitude Restaurant being the highest terraced one.

 Furthermore, the high-rise also have the region’s first double-decker elevators, while the high-performance imported glass has been fixed at the exterior. Moreover, the construction work and finishing is in full swing.
