LAHORE
CCPO Amin Wains has felicitated the traffic police on maintaining flow of traffic in the city during the last year and urged them to keep a vigil on suspected persons and things.

He expressed these views while chairing Darbar of traffic wardens at Alhamra Hall on Thursday. The CCPO said: “Traffic wardens can help improve the image of police force as people have direct contact with them on daily basis”. He added he is aware of problems being faced by traffic wardens which will be resolved soon. He directed sector in charges to send important issues to him in writing so they could be resolved without any delay. Wardens can also see him directly in case of facing any personal or departmental issue. He appreciated E-Challaning, awareness against wheelie, construction of signal free roundabouts and crackdown against tinted glasses were remarkable steps taken by City Traffic Police under the leadership of CTO Tayyab Cheema in 2015. DIG Ops Dr Haider Ashraf, acting CTO Asif Siddique, SP Headquarters Traffic Imtiaz-ur-Rehman, DSPs and sector in charges were also present.

He expressed these views while chairing a farewell ceremony held at Police Lines in the honour of 70 cops who retired in 2015. The CCPO said the retired cops can also continue helping people by getting themselves appointed as beat coordinators in their respective areas. He lauded DIG Ops Haider Ashraf and SP Headquarters Umar Saeed on conducting the ceremony. The DIG said the cops who had served for the department for 30-40 years deserve that they should be seen off in a respectable manner.
