One killed, 10 injured in Mansehra road accident

MANSEHRA: A tourist was killed and 10 others, including seven women, sustained injuries when a van plunged into a ravine in Jabba area here on Thursday.

“The driver couldn’t hold control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn as a result of which it fell into the ravine,” Amir Khadim, the spokesman for the Rescue 1122, told reporters.

The tourists were on their way back to Sargodha after visiting Kaghan valley when the incident happened.

The Rescue 1122 officials rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital where doctors pronounced Khawar Khalid Mahmood as dead.

The injured, including Nazia Bibi, Khaqain Bibi, Fatima Bibi, Huraab Bibi, Benish Bibi, Amara Bibi, Huran Bibi, Muhammad Hussain, Haider Ali and Ahsan Ali were referred to the Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, Abbottabad.

Meanwhile, a teacher, Sher Afzal, was seriously injured when a pickup vehicle collided head on with a car in the Kotkay area.

The locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital from where doctors referred him to the Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, Abbottabad, in a critical condition.
