Lifter Talha bags cash incentive

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan contingent chef-de-mission Brig Zaheer Akhtar awarded a cash incentive of $1,000 to Talha Talib for his outstanding show in the 67kg weightlifting category at Tokyo Olympics.
The 21-year-old finished fifth in the 67kg category with an overall impressive lifting of 320 kg weight and received $1000 from the chef-de-mission and Director Army Sports Directorate at Olympic Village Tokyo Monday.
Brig Zaheer while appreciating Talib’s efforts said that the doors of Army Sports are open for every talented sports person.
“Talha Talib’s first appearance in the Olympics has shown his skills and abilities that he is an upcoming star for Pakistan in the game of weightlifting.”
