CHARSADDA: Official work has remained suspended and people are facing hardships as the post of district education officer (female) has been lying vacant for the last four months in Charsadda.
A number of women teachers and other staff of the Education Department complained that district education officer Ulfat Begum retired on March 31 but the department was yet to fill out the post. They said that people come to the office in connection with various important work but they face hardships due to the non-availability of the official concerned.
They said that the post of additional district education officer (female) had also been lying vacant for the last three, which had multiplied the problems of teachers and other staff of the Education Department in the district.
However, they said the post of additional district education officer (female) was filled out a month ago but the seat of district education officer was still lying vacant. When contacted, provincial Law Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan said that he had informed the relevant authorities about the issue and the appointment would be made to the post in the near future.
