SUKKUR: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said the local bodies elections in Sindh will be held on the party basis prior to the next general election.

Talking to media persons at the residence of Raees Amanullah Shahani in village Ali Hassan Shahani, Bhan Saeedabad, on Sunday, the Sindh chief minister said the LG polls would be held in a way that no one would have any objection.

Replying to a question, he said the objections on the census were raised in the Council of Common Interests (CCI), because Sindh’s population had not been listed correctly during the process. To a question regarding Nawaz Sharif’s meeting with Afghan envoy, the chief minister said he did not have any reliable information on the issue while he had heard the news on the media.

Flaying the foreign policy of the incumbent government, Murad Shah said that it had completely failed, as relations with neighbouring countries -- China, Iran and Afghanistan -- were not friendly, adding that the federal government should strengthen relationship with China. He said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had already hinted that the PTI-led federal government was worried about the prevailing situation, while the opposition alliance, PDM, also looked confused. He asserted that the PDM was formed as a result of an all-parties conference which was convened by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, adding that Bilawal attempted to rescue the masses from the incompetent government of PTI which had caused a tsunami of inflation in the country.
