Tourists left stranded in Chitral Valley
CHITRAL: A large number of tourists were left stranded in Bumburet valley of Kalash due to the traffic congestion as people from all over the country thronged the scenic valley during Eidul Azha.
Hundreds of people thronged Kalash valleys during Eidul Azha, which caused gridlock and traffic congestion on the roads leaving to Bumburet, Barir and Rumbur. The dilapidated condition of roads made the journey arduous for the tourists, who had come from all over the country to enjoy the beauty of the scenic Chitral.
The wardens were seen trying to regulate the flow of traffic with little success as the narrow road snaking along the valley was full of traffic and the vehicles were moving at a snail’s pace. The tourists complained about the lack of facilities at Bumburet and other places. Considering the gridlock, many tourists decided not to travel to Kalash, but they had got stuck in the traffic jam.
