Govt committed to developing far-off areas, says minister
LAKKI MARWAT: Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan Saturday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government was committed to developing far-off areas.
This he stated while addressing a party joining gatherings in Dara Pezu, Wanda Sharbat, Wanda Banuchi, Shahbazkhel, Hayatkhel, Masha Mansoor, Wazir Killay and Tajazai.
He said that the PTI government was working day and night for the welfare of the people. “Our political journey is long. Billions of rupees have been spent on development projects in Lakki Marwat so far. Revolutionary steps have been taken in the fields of health, drinking water, communication and education,” he added.
The minister said that in a short span of time, 130 solar and 20 irrigation tubewells had been completed, adding work on Girls Degree College Ghaznikhel, Ahmadzai and Degree College Pezu would start soon.
He said that the Nursing and Paramedics College at a cost of about Rs2.5 billion and a trauma centre had been approved. “The construction work on the trauma centre was in the process of completion. Work on Nursing and Paramedics College will start soon,” he said, adding, another Rs2 billion had been approved for permanent solution to the drinking water problem in the district, which would be spent on tubewells.
The minister said that the supply of water to the households in the district would be ensured. He added that work was underway on the Rs 750 million Sheikh Badin Dam project, which would help improve the water level.
He said that the incumbent government was taking revolutionary steps in every sector. “Solar systems have been installed in more than 150 mosques in the district while solar systems are being installed in more mosques,” he added. He maintained that he was working in all the constituencies in Lakki Marwat without any discrimination as the district had been kept backward for 15 years.
He added that as soon as he came to power, he started working on the roads to fix the communication system.
In Dara Pezu, Haji Misal Khan ended his 35-year association with JUI and announced to join PTI. In addition, workers of various political and religious parties also joined the PTI.
