On Tuesday (July 20), Islamabad witnessed a shocking incident when a Pakistani diplomat’s daughter was murdered and beheaded. The murderer, who happens to be the son of an influential businessman, has been arrested. However, many posts on social media are now trying to paint the murderer as a person with mental health issues. One sincerely hopes that the murderer is punished and that justice is dispensed at the earliest without any delay as there is no room for prolonged legal proceedings.
Such high profile cases are a test of the government’s will to protect our women. The honourable president shouldn’t even consider offering any leniency in this case.
