President takes notice of SOPs’ violation at Faisal mosque during Eid prayers
Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi took note of the violation of the anti-coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) during Eid prayers at the Faisal Masjid and ordered strict SOP enforcement.
In a letter to the interior ministry whose copies were sent to the health and religious affairs ministries, the president expressed displeasure over SOP violation in Faisal Masjid. “The President of Pakistan has shown displeasure and desired that all departments concerned may be directed to ensure strict compliance of COVID-19,” the letter read.
According to the letter, the president observed serious violation of coronavirus SOPs during the July 21 Eid prayers at Faisal Masjid. “In the wake of [the] fourth wave of [the] COVID-19, the observance of SOPs has become all the more important to minimise its impact through [the] implementation of stringent measures,” he said in the letter.
The president ordered the issuance of instructions to the agencies concerned to ensure the SOP implementation and said the violators of precautionary measures against COVID-19 should be dealt with in accordance with the law.
