SUKKUR: The opposition parties in Sindh have decided to form a new political alliance against the ruling PPP and the first meeting was held in Larkana in this regard.
The leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), GDA, Awami Tehreek and other political, religious and nationalist parties attended the meeting, hosted by the duo of Allama Rashid Mehmood Soomro and former Senator Safdar Abbasi. The meeting discussed the problems faced by the people of Sindh, especially rising poverty, corruption and acute water crisis. The leaders also expressed serious concerns over the sale of land and mineral resources in Sindh. They condemned the PPP-led government for ignoring the serious issues of poverty, corruption, tribal feuds, law and order situation, shortage of irrigation water crisis, political victimization, and missing persons. All the leaders agreed to form a non-political alliance to contest local bodies and general elections.
