LAHORE: A cheque-distribution ceremony was held for merit-based and needy students under first UHE Scholarship and HEC Ehsaas Scholarship Programme at the University of Home Economics (UHE) here on Saturday.
While speaking at the ceremony, UHE Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen stated it was a great pleasure for her to award the First UHE Scholarship to deserving students of the university. “In addition to UHE Scholarships, today we are also distributing Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Programme, which is the largest scholarship project in the country's history for students from low-income families,” she said and added these scholarships were important step toward eradicating poverty by providing financial assistance to deserving but intelligent students. The ceremony was also attended by UHE Registrar Rozina Sadiq, Treasurer Sajida Nadeem, Ms Samina Chaudhary Convener UHE Scholarship Programme, Asma Arshad Convener of PM Ehsaas Scholarships Programme, heads of all university's departments and students.
