Pakistan beat England in first T20
NOTTINGHAM: Pakistan beat England by 31 runs in the first match of the T20 series in Nottingham on Friday despite a brilliant ton by Liam Livingstone.
Pakistan after being invited to bat first scored 232 runs for the loss of six wickets on a good batting track. Babar Azam was the top batsman for Pakistan with 85 runs, while Mohammad Rizwan scored 63.
In reply, England were bowled out for 201 runs in the last over. Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets and was declared man of the match.
Captain Babar Azam said Pakistan players did well to shift mindset for the format. He praised all his bowlers. “They learnt from their mistakes in the ODIs, and fielded better today. They will carry this momentum forward and carry on playing this way,” he said.
