5,970 beds available for corona patients
LAHORE : Specialized Healthcare Department Punjab Secretary Aamir Jan has said that in view of COVID-19 pandemic, the department has made sufficient arrangements that out of 6,601 beds reserved in all government hospitals for COVID-19 patients 5,970 beds are lying unoccupied.
According to a handout Aamir Jan while chairing a high-level meeting here on Friday said that department had also arranged 3,044 beds in Isolation wards of all government hospitals in the province out of which 2,883 beds were vacant. The Secretary further said the health department had arranged 657 ventilators for COVID-19 patients in all hospitals of provincial government, of which 103 ventilators were under use while 554 were unoccupied. Around 221 ventilators are reserved in Lahore hospitals, he added.
