PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has completed registration of members on trial basis in the province for the upcoming intra-party elections.
According to a press release from the PTI provincial secretariat, 75,000 members were registered during the week-long registrations carried out last week.
The registration on trial basis was carried out in order to ensure that no technical faults are found in the newly launched software in which registrations and elections will be carried out through SMS.
Earlier, PTI’s Provincial Organizer Fazal Muhammad Khan held a workers convention in Tarakai House at Swabi, where he met workers and heard their concerns related to the upcoming intra-party elections.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, he assured that all efforts were being made to ensure fair and transparent intra-party elections.“The computerised memberships and election will ensure transparency in the province so that party organisations in other provinces follow suit,” he added.
Extensive registration process will be started after announcement from the party leadership, after which members will be able to register themselves by sending their names and CNIC numbers to 90088.
