KHAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former Member National Assembly (MNA) Syed Akhunzada Chattan on Wednesday criticised the government for withdrawing security from the tribal elders.
Speaking at a press conference, he said the tribal people had rendered matchless sacrifices for the restoration of peace.
The PPP leader said they would hold the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and the inspector general of the police responsible if anything happened to the tribal elders from whom security details had been withdrawn.
He also condemned federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur for his uncalled-for remarks against PPP’s founding chairman and former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Syed Akhunzada Chattan asked the PPP senior leadership to stop cooperating with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government inside and outside the Parliament until the minister in question was made to step down and tender an apology.
He said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had given the 1973 Constitution to the country and was the founder of the nuclear programme.
Court also observed that it would not intervene in the policy matters of the government
