CDA chairman for restructuring dept
Islamabad : Capital Development Authority Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed said that there is a dire need to bring reforms and restructuring in the Authority.
While giving an exclusive interview to ‘The News’ Chairman CDA, Amir Ali Ahmed who is appointed as permanent chief of the authority for the five years, said that ICT administration and CDA are equally important and cooperation with each other will be beneficial for both the organisations in deliverance.
He said that in the past revenue collection was one of the big challenges for CDA which was the main reason for the shortage of funds in the authority. But now CDA is financially stable because of the improvement in the revenue collection system. Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed said that reforms and restructuring is very important to improve the working of any department. He said there would be a big change in CDA offices. All the officials including directors would sit in an open plan, which would not only improve the working of the authority but would also reduce the chances of deals under the table. He further said this will not only benefit the general public but will also bring a good name to the department.
Talking about illegal housing societies, the CDA chairman said that through the media they have started campaigns many times to bring awareness among the public about the illegal or unauthorised housing societies.
He said the details of all the housing societies are mentioned on the CDA website. Now it is the responsibility of investors to check the legitimacy of the housing societies before investing there. He said that CDA is making a mechanism to increase the amount of fine on housing societies, violating the laws.
The CDA chairman said previously there was a contract system for the cleaning of the federal capital. Now they are planning to hire their own staff and machinery, which would also reduce the expenses. He said that residents of Islamabad can see the working of CDA officials.
