TIMERGARA: A gang of thieves has become active in Khema, Jabagai, Kandaro, Malikabad and other areas of Balambat, which has compelled the residents to spend sleepless nights.

Shakil, a resident of Khaima, told this scribe that youth at Khaima and Jabagai villages have started keeping watch

in their villages during night to avert any untoward incident.

He said two weeks ago, a thief barged into a house in Khema and took away Rs30000 cash.

Layaqzada, a resident of Jabagai, said his nephews Tariq and Adnan and former naib nazim village council Khema Mohkamin Khan escaped unhurt when a thief opened fire on them during the night at Jabagai.

He said local elders had lodged a complaint with the officials of Balambat Police Station but they were yet to take any action.

The residents asked Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower Aun Haider Gondal and District Police Officer Liaquat Ali Malik to take notice of the increasing theft incidents.

Meanwhile, a pharmacy technologist at Timergara Teaching Hospital Aziz-ur-Rahman breathed his last due to cardiac arrest.
