Buzdar blasts Opp for weakening Kashmir cause
LAHORE : Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the opposition was bent upon weakening the Kashmir cause during the election campaign while ignoring the vital national interests, he deplored.
It was sheer impassiveness of the opposition parties to prefer personal stakes to the core issue of Kashmir, he added.
The chief minister praised Prime Minister Imran Khan saying that the PM was a true ambassador of the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir as he had bravely presented the Kashmir issue at every forum.
In a statement, the CM said that credit went to Imran Khan for highlighting the Kashmir issue at global level. Usman Buzdar paid glowing tributes to the great sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri Muslims. In his message on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, the chief minister said that the Kashmiris sacrificed their lives while facing the forces led by the Dogra dynasty on that dark day of history in 1931. He said the Dogra dynasty committed atrocities against innocent people of the Valley and the people of the India illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) were still facing brutalities of the forces even after several decades.
“We are standing with the oppressed people of Kashmir on the martyrs’ day, the CM said adding, “On this day, we salute the freedom struggle being carried out with bravery by the oppressed Kashmiri people”.
Meanwhile, the chief minister stated that the PTI government had launched several development projects worth billions of rupees to provide quality amenities to the people of Lahore.
In a statement, the chief minister said the development schemes valuing Rs67 billion had been announced for Lahore, excluding the much-trumpeted Orange Line Train Project, during the previous government, while the PTI government earmarked Rs86 billion for various development schemes for the provincial metropolis in just three years.
Meanwhile, the Ravi Urban Development project and Central Business District were futuristic initiatives of the present government, he added. The government was building a surface waste-water treatment plant along with underground tanks to store rainwater for use, he said.
Similarly, Dilkash Lahore, electric buses, 1,000-bed new general hospital, mother & child hospital at Ganga Ram Hospital, children university, Shahkam Chowk overhead bridge, Gulab Devi hospital underpass, Sheranwala overhead bridge, international standard bus terminal at Thokar Niaz Baig, food & drug lab and local government academy were some of the schemes for Lahorites, he added. He said that these development schemes would solve problems while giving relief to the citizens.
