‘Flights from Pakistan to Dubai will remain suspended till July 21’
DUBAI: Passenger flights from Pakistan to Dubai will remain suspended till July 21, Dubai-based airline Emirates said on its website on Monday. The suspension of inbound passenger flights from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to the UAE has also been extended till July 21.
Abu Dhabi based airline Etihad Airways has already extended its suspension of flights from the South Asian countries till July 21.
Passengers who have connected through Pakistan, Bangladesh, India or Sri Lanka in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE. Although, Emirati nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions, who comply with updated Covid-19 protocols, are exempted and may be accepted for travel. The UAE-based airlines offered travel advice for people affected by the decision. "If your flight has been cancelled or impacted by route suspensions due to Covid-19 restrictions, you don’t need to call us immediately for rebooking. You can simply hold on to your flight ticket and when flights resume, get in touch with us or your booking office to make new travel plans," the airlines advised their ticket holders.
On Saturday, the UAE's aviation authority announced to impose a ban on passengers arriving from Afghanistan and Indonesia because both countries have seen a surge in Covid cases.
