Three youth die in Mansehra accident
MANSEHRA: Three youngsters, including two Hazara University students, died and another one sustained critical injuries when a car plunged into a deep ravine in Battal area Sunday night.
Burhanuddin, Ali Khan and Asif Noor, all students of M.Phil, were returning to Hazara University along with a friend Mohammad Salah after spending the weekend with families when the driver lost control over the steering after leaving the longest 3km tunnel of Hazara Expressway. As a result, the vehicle skidded off the highway and fell into the ravine. The locals shifted the victims to a hospital where doctors pronounced Burhanuddin, Ali Khan and Mohammad Salah dead.
Asif Noor was referred to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, Abbottabad where his condition was stated to be out of danger.
Meanwhile, Hazara University Vice-Chancellor Dr Jamil Ahmad offered condolences to the aggrieved families. “We are with the families of young students killed in this tragic accident and pray for the deported souls,” said a press release issued by the university, while quoting the VC.
One dies in Shogran: In another incident, a tourist from Lahore, Allah Ditta, died and five others received critical injuries when their car met an accident in Shogran area of Balakot. Locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Civil Hospital Balakot where doctors pronounced Allah Ditta dead.
The injured, who were identified as Mohammad Shahid, Mohammad Tariq, Mohammad Nasir, Mohammad Shahzad and Mohammad Iqbal were referred to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, Abbottabad.
