MPA wants NAB to take action against corruption in Nowshera projects
NOWSHERA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member Provincial Assembly Ikhtiar Wali Khan on Saturday alleged that massive corruption was being committed in the development projects in Nowshera and that they would approach the National Accountability Bureau to take action against the contractors.
“I am not fond of placing plaques on the projects completed with substandard material,” the lawmaker told a press conference here.
He added that the PML-N workers had caught the contractor red-handed while using substandard and used material in the construction of Noor Gul Baba Janazagah.
He said the contractor razed the wall of the Janazagah after he took notice and visited the site.
Ikhtiar Wali, who is also provincial spokesperson for the PML-N, said that the workers had done a commendable job to pinpoint corruption of the contractor.
He alleged that rampant corruption had been committed in every project, including dams, solar system, hospital construction, tube-wells and protection walls and dykes on Kabul River in Nowshera.
The lawmaker said that they would move NAB to fix responsibility and recover the money embezzled in these projects.
