‘Rs360 bn package to address grievances of neglected areas of Punjab’

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that for the first time in the history of the country, a regular and balanced district development package of Rs 360 billion has been introduced by the incumbent government.

The chief minister said that this package will redress the grievances of the neglected areas. The previous government postponed the project of the new Punjab Assembly building for 15 years. Usman Buzdar said that prejudice of the former rulers have resulted the increase in the cost of the project.

The PTI government completed this project by providing substantial funds of Rs 2.5 billion. He further stated that work on Wazirabad Cardiology was started in 2006 and the same was kept pending for 15 years adding that the incumbent government completed this project by providing funds of Rs 3.5 billion and 650,000 patients have so far been treated in this cardiology institute.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government worked day and night to put the economy of the province on the right track.

In a statement issued on Sunday, he said that Punjab was the only province which had achieved the tax target as 24.7 per cent increase had been reported during the revenue collection of last financial year by Punjab Revenue Authority. Similarly, there was 18 per cent increase in the tax collection target of the Excise department.

Usman Buzdar said that special incentives were given to the business community to minimise the economic impact of the corona pandemic. He said that Punjab was the only province whose tax revenue target was in surplus.

The incompetence of former rulers had badly affected the economy of the province, he added. He said that the previous government had made the province bankrupt.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the incident of death of a child after being bitten by a stray dog in Liaquatabad area of Lahore.

The chief minister extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family and sought a report from commissioner Lahore division about the tragic incident.

The CM ordered for strict legal action after determining the responsible persons and termed the incident a result of criminal negligence of the authorities and departments concerned.

He directed the departments concerned to take all possible measures to avoid such incidents in future.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of mother of Pir Pagara Sibghat Ullah Shah. The chief minister extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences with the bereaved family of Pir Pagara.

In his condolence message, the chief minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
