Sindh Daesh Emir Kathiyo, Islamabad Emir Amir arrested
LAHORE: The Sindh Emir for Daesh and al-Qaeda, Umar Kathiyo, has been arrested, though the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) officials deny getting hold of him. Umar Kathiyo is stated to be one of the main accused in the Safoora Goth massacre in Karachi.
Security agencies arrested Daesh Islamabad Emir Amir Mansour from Sialkot, while Daesh commander Abdullah Mansouri, arrested from Lahore, has been shifted to Islamabad, according to sources.
Sources said the law-enforcement agencies arrested Umar Kathiyo from interior Sindh and shifted him to some undisclosed location for interrogation. Kathiyo was affiliated with al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and later he joined Daesh. He created a network of terrorists in Sindh in 2011. He was responsible for facilitating al-Qaeda Middle-East terrorists, and he was well-versed in Arabic language. He was responsible for fund-raising for the al-Qaeda Middle-East chapter.
Sources said the wife of Umar Kathiyo runs the network of Daesh women in Sindh. Terrorist Saad Aziz, one of the Safoora Goth attackers, had disclosed the name of Umar Kathiyo during the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) interrogation.
However, when the CTD official Raja Umar Khatab was contacted to get information about the arrest of Umar Kathiyo, he showed his ignorance about it, saying if any other government agency had arrested him, he was not aware of it.
On the other hand, sensitive agencies, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid in Sialkot and arrested Daesh Islamabad Emir Amir Mansour. Sources said Amir used to give Rs30,000 to Rs50,000 to those recruited for and arrested Daesh Islamabad Emir Amir Mansour. Sources said Amir had also provided lists of those recruited for Daesh in Pakistan. Meanwhile, Daesh commander Abdullah Mansouri had been shifted from Lahore to Islamabad. He had fled Karachi after taking part in Safoora Goth massacre. He is a very important member of Daesh Sindh and Punjab network and he has detailed information about terrorist group in Pakistan. He is a companion of terrorists Saad Aziz and Tahir Minhas, arrested from Karachi in connection with Safoora Goth attack.
