Enhance dengue surveillance, says Dr Yasmin Rashid
LAHORE : Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that disciplinary action must be initiated against officers not submitting dengue reports. She said this while chairing the Cabinet Committee meeting at Darbar Hall of Civil Secretariat here on
Friday.
Punjab Minister for Auqaf Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Secretary Auqaf, Secretary Environment, Secretary Agriculture, Deputy Commissioner Lahore and others attended the meeting.
The health minister reviewed dengue eradication activities in the province while administrative secretaries of different departments presented the progress report of their respective departments to the health minister.
Dr Yasmin Rashid said increase in dengue cases may prove dangerous and added indoor surveillance must be enhanced immediately. All institutions must work jointly to control dengue, she said and added the commissioners and deputy commissioners must ensure compliance. People must keep their homes, offices and shops clean.
The PHA must ensure cleanliness of green belts and parks. Secretary Auqaf must present a report on dengue surveillance at shrines, she added. Chief Secretary Punjab directed improvement in quality of reporting and surveillance.
