24 criminals fled police custody in 2015

LAHORE

Twenty-four criminals involved in various heinous crimes escaped from police custody during the year 2015.

During the same year, Lahore police registered cases against 44 officers and officials, including a sub-inspector, four ASIs, two muharrars, 26 constables and 11 head constables under Sections 223/224/222/225-B and 155-C Police Order 2002.

According to available data from January to November 2015, Nazia Hassan, Inspector Headquarters PS DACE Punjab arrested a sub-inspector Mohammad Yaqoob, incharge Chowki Jia Bugga Patrolling Post District, Lahore in connection with a case registered under Section 186 at Raiwind City police station during the month of November. Meanwhile, Muharrar Chowki Munir Haider, ASI Saghir Ahmad and 13 officials detained the officials of Anti-Corruption Department and made the accused SI Yaqoob escape from the scene. A case against an SI, muharrar and 13 officials was registered at Raiwind City police station under Sections 186/223/224/148/149 PPC and 155/C Police Order 2002. The case was under investigation.

During the month of November, an accused identified as Babar Tanveer against whom a case was registered at Gulberg police station under Section 9-C/CNSA escaped from the custody of an ASI Sakhawat of Gulberg Investigation wing. The ASI was taking Babar to camp jail in a rickshaw when he managed to escape from the scene. A case against ASI Sakhawat Ali was registered at Gulberg police station under Sections 223/224 PPC and 155/C Police Order 2002. The case was under investigation.

During the month of November, an accused Gulfam Munawar involved in a case registered against him under Sections 395/412 PPC at Gawalmandi police station escaped from the custody of a head constable Mubashar Hassan and a constable Faisal Bukhari of Organised Crime Iqbal Town. A case against the two officials was registered at Gulshan Iqbal police station under Sections 223/224 PPC. The case was under investigation.

During the month of October, an accused Rashid involved in a case registered against him under Sections 394/411 PPC at Shafiqabad police station escaped from District Courts. The accused managed to escape due to negligence of Zahoor inspector supervision district courts Bakshi Khana, ASI Mohammad Ashraf, ASI Karamat Ali, head constable Ejaz Akbar, head constable Shaukat Ali and constable Naseer Ahmad. A case against the two ASIs, two head constables and a constable was registered at Lower Mall police station under Sections 225-B/223/224/222 PPC and 155/C Police Order 2002. Police submitted an in-complete challan of the case.

During the month of June, five proclaimed offenders, including Mohammad Kamran, Imran alias Mani, Moon, Rashid and Sajid broke open the lockup and escaped from Sundar police custody. The accused escaped due to negligence of three head constables Zahid Iqbal, Liaqat Ali and Mohammad Yaseen and two constables Abdul Rehman and Riaz Baig. A case against three head constables and two constables was registered at Sundar police station under Sections 223/224 PPC and 155/C Police Order 2002. The case was under investigation.

During the month of September, an accused Samuel Masih involved in a case registered under Sections 399/402 PPC escaped from the custody of a constable Amanat of Nawankot police station. A case against the constable Amanat was registered at Nawankot police station under Sections 223/224 PPC and 155/C Police Order 2002. Police submitted the challan.

During the month of August, an accused identified as Mohammad Afzal involved in a case registered against him at Naseerabad police station under Sections 379/147/149 PPC escaped from the custody of ASI Taj Mohammad and a head constable Shabbir Ahmad. A case against the ASI Taj Mohammad and a constable Shabbir Ahmad was registered at Naseerabad police station under Sections 223/224 PPC. Police submitted the case challan.

During the month of August, an accused identified as Mohammad Ajmal involved in a case registered at Kahna police station under Sections 395/412 PPC escaped from the custody of two constables Mohammad Asif and Rizwan Ali. A case against the two constables was registered at Kahna police station under Sections 223/224 PPC and 155-C Police Order 2002. Police submitted the case challan.

During the month of July, a proclaimed offender identified as Ahmad Raza escaped from the custody of Muharrar Nishtar Colony head constable Mohammad Ajmal. A case was registered against him under Sections 223/224 PPC and 155/C Police Order 2002. Police submitted the case challan.

During the month of April, an accused identified as Sadaqat Ali involved in a case registered at Ichhara police station under Section 392 PPC escaped from the custody of a constable Mohammad Yaseen. A case against the accused constable was registered at Naulakha police station under Sections 223/224 PPC. The case was under investigation.

During the month of June, Amir Shah, Ahtasham alias Shama involved in a case registered at Garden Town police station under Sections 392/411 PPC escaped from the custody of a head constable Rashid Ahmad and a constable Abdul Razzaq. A case against the two officials was registered at Muslim Town police station under Sections 223/224 PPC. The case was under investigation.

During the month of June, an accused identified as Nabeel involved in a case registered against him at City Raiwind police station under Section 392 PPC and a target offender Farooq Masih escaped from the custody of two constables Allah Ditta and Sajid Mahmood. A case against the two constables was registered at City Raiwind police station under Sections 223/224 PPC. Police submitted the case challan.

During the month of February, an accused Salamat Masih involved in a case registered at Johar Town police station under Sections 392/411 PPC escaped from the custody of a head constable Riaz Ahmad and a constable Mohammad Imran. A case against the two officials was registered at Green Town police station under Sections 223/224 PPC. The case was under investigation.

During the month of February, two accused persons Ali Hassan and Riaz Hussain involved in a case registered at Muslim Town police station under Section 392 PPC escaped from the custody of a head constable Liaqat Ali. A case against the head constable was registered at Naulakha police under Sections 223/224 PPC. Police submitted the case challan.

During the month of January, two hardened criminals identified as Mohammad Sarwar and Mohammad Imran, who were dispatched from Maleer Jail, Karachi to Nawab Town police station Lahore in connection with the investigation of different cases, escaped from the custody of a head constable Mohammad Afzal and a constable Mukhtar Ahmad. A case against the two officials was registered at Naulakha police station under Sections 223/224 PPC. Police submitted the case challan.
