Man attempts suicide over land issue

MUZAFFARGARH: A man attempted suicide over a land issue on Tuesday.Muhammad Riaz Mahraa had purchased a residential plot from Kala Gujjar of Moza Meeran a few years ago and paid him dues as per agreement.

Later, Kala Gujar was not willing to register the plot on his name. In desperation, Riaz doused himself with diesel and set himself ablaze and sustained critical burns. Rescue-1122 shifted him to the DHQ Hospital Muzaffargarh where from the doctors referred him to Nishtar Hospital, Multan.

Addl IGP visits Rangpur police Station: Additional Inspector General of Police, South Punjab, Capt (retd) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Awan Tuesday visited Rangpur police station in Muzaffargarh. He directed all District Police Officers to launch a comprehensive crackdown against dacoit gangs and proclaimed offenders (POs) in their respective areas.
