IGP helps victim cop with cash
PESHAWAR: KP Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari on Tuesday handed over a cheque for Rs50,000 as financial aid to Sub-Inspector Khalid Khan who has fallen victim to online fraud.
An official statement said his bank account was hacked by some unknown persons who had withdrawn all the amount from the account.
The affected cop had appealed to the IGP for financial assistance who called the affected official to his office and handed him the cheque. The police chief assured him that the accused involved in the crime would be arrested with the help of the Federal Investigation Agency Cybercrime Wing.
He urged general public and police officers to be careful while sharing confidential financial information about the bank accounts/ATM cards to avoid financial loss.
In case of such an incident, the victim should immediately contact local police and the FIA Cyber Crime Wing for prompt legal action, he added.
