Surging trend in prices of vegetables, fruits continues

LAHORE: Surging trend in prices of daily perishable goods (vegetables and fruits) continued for another week. Massive overcharging on these items remained unchecked. Sellers kept violating official price list.

The district administration seems unable to control price-hike. No improvement is witnessed in Sahulat bazaars while a report of all is well and in control is being submitted to the high-ups.

This week the price of chicken, live bird, was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs206 per kg, while it is sold at Rs220 to 240 per kg and the price chicken, meat, declined by Rs7 per kg, fixed at Rs299 per kg and sold Rs320 to Rs340 per kg.

The price of potatoes soft skin new A-grade was gained by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs60 to Rs63 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg, B-Grade Rs55 to Rs57 per kg sold at Rs70 per kg, potatoes sugar free A-grade was fixed at Rs40 to Rs42 per kg, sold at Rs50 to Rs60 per kg, B-grade at Rs36 to Rs38 per kg, mixed sold at Rs40 to Rs45 per kg, potatoes white by Rs2 per kg, fixed Rs25 to Rs27 per kg, sold at Rs40 to Rs50 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade increased by Rs7 per kg, fixed at Rs40 to Rs43 per kg, sold at Rs50 to Rs60 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs34 to Rs36 per kg, sold at Rs40 to Rs45 per kg, and C-grade at Rs30 to Rs32 per kg, sold at Rs35 to Rs40 per kg.

The price of tomatoes A-grade increased by Rs18 per kg, fixed at Rs60 to Rs63 per kg, sold at Rs80 to Rs100 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs54 to Rs56 per kg, and C-grade at Rs50 to 52 per kg, B and C quality mixed sold at Rs60 to 70 per kg.

The price of garlic local was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs127 to 132 per kg, sold at Rs220 to 260 per kg, garlic Chinese price was not fixed sold at Rs200 to 240 per kg, Garlic Harnai was gained by Rs18 per kg, fixed at Rs170 to 175 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg.

Ginger Chinese was gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs410 to 420 per kg, sold at Rs450 to 500 per kg.

Spinach was gained by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs30 to 32 per kg, sold at Rs50 to 60 per kg.

The price of lemon local was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs120 to 125 per kg, sold at Rs120 to 140 per kg.

Pumpkin was increased by Rs31 per kg, fixed at Rs80 to 83 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg.

Ladyfinger was gained by Rs21 per kg, fixed at Rs85 to 88 per kg, sold at Rs100 to 120 per kg.

Luffa was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs40 to 42 per kg, sold at Rs50 to 60 per kg. Green chili price A-grade gained by Rs15 at Rs85 to 88 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs60 to 62 per kg, sold at Rs80 to 100 per kg.

Price of cauliflower was gained by Rs10 per kg fixed at Rs65 to 67 per kg, sold at Rs120 per kg, and cabbage fixed at Rs35 to 37 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 80 per kg.

The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs53 to 160 per kg, B-grade sold at Rs100 to 140 per kg, and A grade was sold at Rs250 to 300 per kg.

The price of banana A-category was further reduced by Rs15 per dozen, fixed at Rs95 to 100 per dozen, sold at Rs150 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs60 to 62 per dozen, sold at Rs80 to 100 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs43 to 45 per dozen, sold at Rs60 to 70 per dozen.

Papaya was unchanged at Rs150 to 155 per kg, sold at Rs180 to 200 per kg.

Melon price was not fixed sold at Rs80 to 100 per kg.

Dates Irani was fixed at Rs210 to 220 per kg, sold at Rs300 to 400 per kg.

Watermelon was gained by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs26 to 28 per kg, sold at Rs50 to 60 per kg.

Peach A-grade was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs165 to 170 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, B-grade was fixed at Rs85 to 90 per kg, and it sold at Rs100 to 140 per kg.

Mangoes of different variety were fixed at Rs42 to 130 per kg, sold at Rs80 to 220 per kg.

Phalsa was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs130 to 135 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg.

Plump A grade was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs210 to 220 per kg, sold at Rs250 to 300 per kg, B-grade was fixed at Rs120 to 125 per kg, sold at Rs180 to 200 per kg.

Grapes black was fixed at Rs170 to 175 per kg, sold at Rs200 t0 240 per kg, and Sundarkhnai was fixed at Rs200 to 210 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, grapes gola was fixed at Rs110 to 115 per kg, sold at Rs140 to 160 per kg.

Litchi price was increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs270 to 280 per kg and sold at Rs350 to 400 per kg.

Jambolan was fixed at Rs110 to 115 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg.

Pomegranate local was fixed at Rs150 to 155 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg.

Peer was fixed at Rs90 to 95 per kg, sold at Rs100 to 120 per kg.
