Draw in opener as U23 football event gets underway
ISLAMABAD: Sindh Qalandars and Kashmir Kings played 1-1 draw in the opening match of the National Under-23 Football Championship that got underway at the Kunch Ground in Abbottabad on Sunday.
Kashmir scored the opener in the 35th minute with Qalandars drawing level minutes before the final hooter.
Earlier, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) president Ashfaq Hussain Shah inaugurated the championship amid a simple opening ceremony. Also present on the occasion were PFF secretary general Naveed Akram, member Congress Ch Faqir Muhammad, FATA Football Association president Shahid Khan Shinwari, Islamabad Football Association president Ch. Muhammad Saleem, former DG Sports KP Sports Tariq Mahmood. A large number of spectators were also present on the occasion.
