Opposition to face defeat in AJK elections: Sarwar
LAHORE: Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar has said the next president and prime minister of Azad Kashmir will be from the PTI and political opponents will face defeat in AJK like Gilgit-Baltistan elections.
The governor said this during a meeting with PTI leader Shoukat Basra and a delegation of PTI workers from Azad Kashmir at Governor’s House here on Monday. The investment of 1.5 billion dollars in Roshan Digital account is an expression of confidence in government policies. The opposition can create as many hurdles as it wants but the government will not budge an inch from its commitment to give the right of vote to overseas Pakistanis, he said.
Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar said Prime Minister Imran Khan is the ambassador to Kashmiris and raising voice for the Muslims of Palestine as well. He said the federal government is providing all the resources for the development of Azad Kashmir, adding for the first time, steps are being taken for equal development across Pakistan.
He said economy of the country is boosting and it is making progress in every sector. He maintained that the government will fulfill all promises made to people under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said people stand united with government policies, not with those who destabilised the country. He said the federal and provincial governments have given people friendly budgets, adding the federal budget will also be approved by the majority votes. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan believes in the rule of law and he will never back down from this.
He said the government is taking practical steps to bring reforms in all the institutions in the country. The governor said the opposition should stop dreaming for victory in the elections of Azad Kashmir. The opposition will be defeated in the general elections of Azad Kashmir in the same manner as it lost elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, and the decision of public will be in the favour of PTI, he added. He said the government’s decision to give the right to vote to the overseas Pakistanis is not being tolerated by the opposition and they are trying to create hurdles in this process.
However, despite opposition’s hurdles the government will give the right of vote to overseas Pakistanis. Talking about Roshan Digital Account, he said 1.5-billion-dollar investment in Roshan Digital Account is a testament to confidence in the government policies.
