10 candidates contesting for LA-42 Valley-III seat

MULTAN: Two polling centres have been established in Multan for polling of LA 42 scheduled on July 25.

Ten candidates are contesting for the Azad Kashmir LA-42 Valley-III seat in the Legislative Assembly elections. The majority of the votes in LA 42 Valley-III belong to the Kashmiri community of Multan. The candidates from Multan also submitted their nomination papers in Multan. In Multan, 1,464 voters cast their votes in Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly seat LA 42 Valley-III.

The Kashmiri voters cast their votes from south Punjab districts including 90 from Rahimyar Khan, Bahawalpur 10, Khanewal 25, Muzaffargarh 40. The Kashmiri voters from Multan, Lodhran-Vehari Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan will also cast their votes.

A fierce contest is expected between five candidates for the LA 42 seat. Rana Sarfraz is contesting on Kashmir Conference ticket, Rana Sarfraz on the PTI ticket, Shaukat Shah on the PML-N ticket, Hafeez Butt on PPP ticket, Saeed Ahmad Khan on Jamaat-e-Islami ticket and Asim Butt as an independent candidate. The current MLA from LA 42 Valley 3 is PML-N candidate Shaukat Shah.
