Unequal animals

The tragic death of 10-month-old Bisma due to the security protocol for Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Karachi speaks volumes about the rising menace of the VIP culture. The powerful elite in our country considers itself above the law and flouts even court orders with impunity.

George Orwell aptly remarked that, “all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.” Indeed, the malaise of the VIP culture has seriously undermined the prospects of an egalitarian society in the country.
