Two shot at, injured

LAHORE:Two persons were shot at and wounded by a man and his son on Khokhar Road, Badami Bagh on Sunday. The accused identified as Ahmed and his father Shahbaz opened indiscriminate fire in front of a medical store in Siddique Colony. As a result, Rana Warasat, 47, and Zeeshan, got injuries. The injured were shifted to Mayo Hospital.

Body found: Body of a 65-year old man was recovered from a house in the Sundar area on Sunday. The victim was identified as Bashir Ahmed. Edhi volunteers shifted the body to morgue.

Missing boys found: Manga Mandi Investigation police traced two missing boys and handed them over to their heirs. The missing Sufyan, 14, was fed up with the reprimand of his parents and went to Islamabad. Omar Khalid, 4, was taken to Murree by his father after a domestic issue. The parents of the missing children had registered kidnapping cases at Manga Mandi police station.

Meanwhile, bodies of two persons, who had committed suicide in two different parts of the city, were handed over to their heirs. A 24-year old boy and a teenage girl committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills in Hanjarwal and Kahna on Saturday. Nawaz, a fruit seller, had taken poisonous pills over unknown domestic issues. The girl identified as Ayesha had taken poisonous pills in the Kahna area over unknown reasons. Police handed over the bodies to families.

ARRESTED: Defence C police arrested two suspects and recovered 40 bottles of liquor and charas weighing 240 grams from their possession. The arrested culprits were identified as Amir Masih and Naeem Masih.

198 CALLS RESPONDED: Dolphin and PRU wings showed immediate response to all 198 calls received on helpline 15 during the last week. Dolphin Squad and PRU checked 253,000 bikes, 662 vehicles and 353,000 persons. Around 664 bikes and seven vehicles were impounded and 362 people were arrested due to incomplete documents. Dolphin Squad and PRU arrested 56 criminals for violating ban on kite-flying, six for aerial firing and 23 for doing wheelie.

4,136 PRODUCED IN COURTS: Judicial Wing produced 4,136 accused from the district and 32 accused from other districts safely in various courts last week. More than 220 personnel were deployed on the occasion of the appearance of important personalities. Twenty-one personnel of Security Division and 37 personnel of Operation Wing were given fire practice at the firing range. Round fire of Brita pistol and SMG gun was carried out.
