‘No country will be allowed to use Pak soil for terrorism’
ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security Dr Moeed Yusuf and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib Saturday said Pakistan would not allow any country to use its soil for terrorism and subversive activities against it.
Pakistan was playing an important role in maintaining peace in the entire region, Dr Moeed said while talking to a private news channel.
The adviser said the prevailing situation of Afghanistan was perturbing for the whole region as it was facing worst kind of situation internally. A failure to achieve peace in Afghanistan was the most immediate challenge facing the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), he added.
The adviser said Pakistan always wanted negotiations for political settlement of Afghanistan, which should be Afghan led and Afghan owned, which was the only way forward to achieve the desired results. Pakistan was supporting a stable, peaceful, sovereign and united Afghanistan which was imperative for itself and neighbours. Dr Moeed Yusuf reiterated that Pakistan could not allow Afghan soil to be used against it.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said that Pakistan would not allow any country to use its soil for terrorism and other illegal activities. Talking to a private news channel Farrukh Habib said that Pakistan has rendered supreme sacrifices in war against terrorism to eliminate it completely. He said the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) had recognised Pakistan’s progress and efforts to come out of its grey list.
Farrukh Habib said Pakistan was included in grey list during the tenures of previous governments both Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz as they did not make any proper legislation in that regard.
The minister said the incumbent government had done a remarkable work and efforts made to address multi-challenges, faced by the country for combating financing of terrorism besides improving the national economy.
