Lahore car blast case: Another suspect arrested from Mandi Bahauddin
LAHORE: The investigators busy in finding the trail of terrorists and their facilitators in Lahore car blast Saturday claimed to have arrested another suspect, who was involved in shifting the vehicle to Lahore.
The accused was identified as Sajjad Hussain, a resident of Mandi Bahauddin. He has been shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
Sources said Sajjad was in contact with mastermind Peter David Paul for the last 10 years and he had confessed to shifting the vehicle to Lahore. He said the vehicle was shifted to the target by someone else. The law-enforcement agencies have been trying to search the facilitators of terrorists.
Sources said an alleged terrorist, Zia Khan, brought vehicle from Mardan, KPK, and Sajjad assisted him to take it to the target place. Sources said the terrorists used new technique to cause maximum damage. The law-enforcement agencies have taken into custody six suspected terrorists so far and investigations were under way to break the network of terrorists.
Meanwhile, CCPO Lahore and DIG Operations visited Jinnah Hospital and inquired about the health of injured policeman Tahir. They assured him of full support for medical treatment.
AP adds: Investigation Officer Wakeel Ahmad said two other men had also been picked up in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, who were allegedly involved in rigging the explosives in the car.
Wakeel Ahmad said investigators had found evidence of involvement of the Indian secret service in the attack. He did not elaborate.
