PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government and Rural Development Department (LG&RDD) has issued instructions to municipal authorities to set up cattle markets and ensure timely disposal of garbage on the occasion of Eid Ul Azha across the province.
A handout said that the instructions were issued at a meeting, chaired by Minister for LG&RD Akbar Ayub Khan at LG Secretariat in Peshawar. Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed, Secretary Local Council Board Saleem Khan, Director General LG&RD Khuda Bakhsh and officials of other agencies were also present.
On the occasion, the authorities were directed to immediately start selection of locations at appropriate distances for cattle markets in all the cities and towns of the province. The participants were asked to ensure that the number of markets are increased and the rush in them be kept to a minimum while a veterinarian must also be there in every market to prevent the bringing of sick or emaciated cattle.
The anti-germs spray, night light, security, washrooms, drinking water and cleaning facilities should also be arranged at all markets.
