Spiritual faith hailer shot dead in Korangi

A spiritual faith hailer was shot dead in Korangi on Saturday.

Rescuers transported the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy, where the man was identified as 57-year-old Ghulam Yasin, son of Mithal.

According to Ibrahim Hyderi SHO Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, the victim was shot in his head and chest.

Two empties shells of a pistol were found at the crime scene and sent to the forensic division of the Sindh police. The police suspected that the incident might have occurred over a personal enmity.

Cylinder explosions

A minor girl was injured on Saturday in a gas cylinder explosion at an LPG filling shop in the Keamari area while a young man was injured in another gas cylinder explosion at his house in the Dalmia locality.

Eight-year-old Zainab, daughter of Bashir, was injured after a gas cylinder exploded with a loud explosion at an LPG filing shop located in Keamari within the limits of the Jackson police station.

Upon receiving the information, police and rescue workers reached the site and transported the injured to the Civil Hospital. SHO Muhammad Ashfaq said the minor girl had brought a small cylinder to the shop to get it filled but another cylinder exploded at the shop, severely injuring her eyes. Further investigations are under way.

In the other incident, 18-year-old Adnan, son of Zulfiqar, was injured after a gas cylinder exploded at his house in the Dalmia area within the limits of the Aziz Bhatti police station. He was shifted to the burns ward of the Civil Hospital, Karachi.

Police said the incident took place during cooking at the house and investigations were under way.
