Workshop on climate change held in Bara
BARA: A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Islamic Relief, held a one-day training workshop on climate change here on Thursday.
The event was attended by journalists from Bara Press Club and local social workers affiliated with Islamic Relief.
The organisation’s manager Muhammad Siddique, project coordinator Adnan Khan, and others said that Islamic Relief strived to raise awareness about climate change at community level.
They expressed concern that if the people did not take into account the causes of climate change, the future would be harmful for human life.
They added that climate change and other factors were affecting the environment, including deforestation and smoke level, which need to be controlled.
The speakers called for launching a massive awareness campaign on the prevention of deforestation, water pollution, etc.
