CS for SOPs implementation

LAHORE:The Punjab chief secretary has directed all the divisional commissioners to ensure strict implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding corona, saying that adopting precautions is direly needed after easing restrictions.

He stated this while chairing a meeting held at Civil Secretariat on Wednesday to review corona pandemic situation and vaccination process in the province. Taking notice of a Special Branch’s report on SOPs’ violations in wedding ceremonies, the chief secretary said violations would not be tolerated in any case and action would be taken against the violators. He mentioned that only outdoor wedding ceremonies were permitted with SOPs, and there was a complete ban on indoor functions. The CS directed that scientific study of all the three waves of the pandemic be conducted to make planning to deal with coronavirus. He also asked the officers to ensure data entry of vaccination on a daily basis. He also issued instructions to the divisional commissioners regarding targets of daily vaccination. He said that the targets of vaccination would be achieved, adding eradication of coronavirus was only possible through vaccine and precautions.
